She Was Pretty
Today marks the day I finished the 16th and last episode of "She Was Pretty". To commemorate the end of this drama for me is the first drama review I'm ever doing. I guess. "She Was Pretty" is the story of Hye Jin who hides from her childhood friend Seong Joon when he comes back to Korea after migrating to the United States when he was much younger. As in any other television show, the child versions of the characters look nothing like the main actors in the story, except for some accessories or touches that they can keep until adulthood as dictated by the producers. So basically, the pretty Hye Jin from Seong Joon's childhood years has turned to a curly-haired and jobless 30-year-old. Hye Jin was pretty (haha) insecure about this so she decides to send her best friend Ha Ri to pretend to be her for Seong Joon. The story ends with Seong Joon and Hye Jin find themselves back in each other's arms, despite the circumstances they were in. At times, the story was quite frustrating for me because of how ugly they depicted the lead character and the story line in general, and I was just so done with things that stress me out. Still, I was glued to the story because I couldn't just let it go like that. I saw it 'til and it ended happily. However, it felt lacking for me. The climax wasn't there. I wasn't that excited. The story had a lot of elements that could've been used for a wow ending. But still, it was a nice story.
